Fenestrae remembers your window positions for every monitor setup and virtual desktop. Dock your laptop, switch desktops, plug in your ultrawide — your windows snap back exactly where they belong.
7-day trial · Full features · No credit card for trial ·
You unplug your laptop, take a meeting, come back — and every window is crammed into one screen. You switch virtual desktops and your layout is gone. You spend minutes dragging and resizing. Every. Single. Time.
Save a layout once. Every time you reconnect the same monitors or switch to the same virtual desktop, your windows restore automatically. Press <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Win</kbd>+<kbd>W</kbd> from anywhere and the app jumps to you.
Press Ctrl+Win+W from any virtual desktop and Fenestrae jumps to you — not the other way around. Profiles remember which desktop they belong to.
Layouts are saved per monitor configuration. Two monitors at work, one at home, ultrawide at the studio — each gets its own set of profiles.
Press Ctrl+Win+A to activate a full-screen overlay with snap-to-edge, snap-to-grid, ghost previews, and guide lines.
See the exact pixel gap between windows in real time. Matching gaps highlight green so you can distribute windows with design-tool precision.
Profiles can include apps. Restore a layout and Fenestrae opens the apps that belong in it — your workspace, fully assembled.
Set up your workspace however you like. Use Arrange Mode for pixel-perfect alignment, or just drag windows by hand.
Give it a name — "Work Desk", "Laptop Only", "Presentation". Fenestrae records every window position and the monitor topology.
Plug in the same monitors tomorrow and your layout is back instantly. Different monitors? Different profile. It just works.

Yes — this is a first-class feature. Press Ctrl+Win+W from any virtual desktop and Fenestrae moves to you instantly. Profiles remember which virtual desktop they were saved on, and the name is shown on each profile card.
Fenestrae stops restoring layouts automatically, but your saved profiles are preserved. Subscribe to unlock it again — no data is lost.
Only to activate your license the first time. After that, Fenestrae works entirely offline. Your profiles never leave your machine.
Windows 11 is the primary target. Windows 10 version 1809 and newer should work, but some features like the overlay rendering are optimized for Windows 11.
Full refund within 30 days of any payment, no questions asked. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Lemon Squeezy customer portal.
After subscribing, you'll receive an email with your license key from Lemon Squeezy. Paste it into Fenestrae's settings and you're done.
Yes. One license covers up to 3 personal machines. If you need more, just reach out and we'll sort it out.
The default Arrange Mode shortcut is Ctrl+Win+A. If that conflicts with another application, you can rebind it in Fenestrae's settings to any modifier+key combination you prefer.
Yes, Fenestrae is safe. Because it uses low-level hooks to detect mouse input and manipulate window positions (standard for window managers), some antivirus tools flag it as suspicious. You can safely whitelist the executable. We're working on code-signing to eliminate these false positives.
Yes. Fenestrae is per-monitor DPI-aware. If you have a 4K laptop screen at 200% scaling next to a 1080p external monitor at 100%, profiles and snap calculations account for each monitor's resolution and scale factor independently.
Profiles are stored as plain JSON files in your local app data folder. You can copy them between machines, back them up, or share them. A built-in export/import UI is planned for a future update.
Email [email protected] or open an issue on GitHub. Bug reports with steps to reproduce are especially helpful.
Fenestrae doesn't install system services or modify your registry beyond standard app registration. Uninstall it from Windows Settings > Apps, or simply delete the application folder. Your profiles remain in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Fenestrae if you want to keep them.
